So you've read the project and now you want to be a part of it, great. 1'st thing you need is a Facebook account. If you don't have a facebook account click here to sign up and get one.

OK, so now you have a Facebook account. Look to the right of the page here and you'll see a list of links. Currently those links are black. Black means that the current state doesn't have an Amber Alert Facebook Account. If the link is ORANGE, than that state has an Amber Alert Facebook Account.

By clicking on your States Facebook link you'll be able to connect and become friends with your States Amber Alert Facebook page. Your not limited to just your state as I would recommend that you also become friends with other connecting states as well.

Once you are connected than you can choose to recieve your posts via WEB - Mobile - or even SMS. More on those options in a different post. Ultimately - all 50 states connected to each other would create the largest real-time Amber Alert Network in the world. I Personally thank everybody that has contributed to this project. What exactly does the Amber Alert Project do? PDF Print E-mail

The current goal of the Amber Alert Extension Project (AAEP) is to help the current Amber Alert System. The website is a portal for helping agencies that have the ability to send out Amber Alerts with integration of a Facebook platform. When each specific state has an Amber Alert Facebook Page they can begin to connect each other's Facebook page to create an Amber Alert Extension Network (AAEN).

So for instance - just recently there was an Amber Alert that went out in Wisconsin at like 3am in the morning. Well, Minnesota didn't know about it until 5:30am in the morning after the kids were found - in Minnesota. There was a serious information gap between the two states. The Amber Alert Extension Project aims to eliminate that gap. Our goal is to ensure that when an Amber Alert is released - everybody knows about it in real time.

So if Wisconsin and MN were connected via Facebook utilizing there interconnect abilities like Wall Posts - SMS - and RSS feeds through Facebook, than not only would Minnesota have known about the Amber Alert in real time - so would have all the kids, people, grandparents, and everybody else that "friends" of the States Facebook Amber Alert System (FAAS) that were logged in at the time. This reach is one that goes a lot further than our current Amber Alert System.

So imagine that now you've connected 50 states with there own Amber Alert Facebook page. How would people know where to find there states Amber Alert Facebook page? Right here, that is what the Amber Alert Extension Project (AAEP) is all about. Were about helping the agencies start there Amber Alert Facebook page and were about helping you, the people, get connected with them.

Together, we'll create a more universal  and global Amber Alert System.

Currently this site is under construction but will continue to be worked on until completion.
